Ilmington 20:20 Vision has launched Phase One of the Village’s Soft Plastic Recycling Scheme.

Phase Two will be launched in the next few weeks.

Sponsored by Warwickshire County Council and working with the Parish Council, the aim is to:

  • Cut our communal Carbon Footprint by providing a special bin near to your home, where you can deposit much of the soft plastic that currently goes to landfill via your council black bin

  • The UK uses 400,000 tons of soft plastic every year - but only 21,000 tonnes of that is recycled into non-food grade material

  •  The bins are monitored and emptied by the Ilmington 20:20 Committee and the refuse transported in bulk to Stratford Tesco’s Soft Plastic Recycling Point

We will ensure that all households will receive a leaflet explaining how the scheme will work and where your nearest bin can be found.

We are indebted to our team of volunteers who will be monitoring the bins to ensure they are emptied regularly.
